Hi, Really need some advice on using my NAS for music streaming.
To date I have used Windows Media Player and Asset Upnp to enable streaming. I have ripped CD's to my local pc drive using WMP and CDripper respectively. Both these applications work very well in terms of stability and more importantly use of ID tages for WAV format.
I have now just purchased a Netgear ReadyNAS duo and the problems now begin. When I rip CD's directly to the NAS I lose all structure and ID tag information. This is soon solved by Asset Upnp acting as Upnp server but the problem I have is that I need my pc on at all times for this to work.
The question I have is can I install Asset Upnp on my NAS so I can use the NAS with Asset Upnp without the laptop being powered.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
