    Adding Language Tag

    Hi,

i like to add the mp3 Tag "Language" (TLAN)

i tried language, languages, and language(s) as you described it with "mood" in your FAQ.

I have the selection in my Library, but it is empty!

(If i use language(s) - my database is empty: 0 Tracks)

    Can you help me?

    Re: Adding Language Tag

You would need to install dBpoweramp Music Converter, right click on one of your files and select Edit Tag. Now you should see how the language tag presents itsself.

      Re: Adding Language Tag

The "dBpoweramp: Edit ID-Tag" shows me the Tag like this:

      Language(s)

But when i use this entry in the MediaDatabaseFieldsv3.txt-File my Library shows me 0 Tracks in 170 Albums. Without this entry: 1933 Tracks in 170 Albums.

Perhaps because of the round brackets lin Languaage(s) ?

I have the same effect (0 Tracks) when i add in the MediaDatabaseFieldsv3.txt-File:

      Songs-DB_Custom3,0,NVARCHAR(150)

Is thios because of the Minus sign in the Tagname?

All other cutom Tags work fine!

        Try:

        Language(s),0,NVARCHAR(150)

I added the line exactly as you descibed it in your post:

          Language(s),0,NVARCHAR(150)

But if i add this line and rebuild the Libary (Delete uMediaLibraryMainDBv3.bin, Restart Asset, Refresh all) - the Libary contains 0 Tracks.

If i delete the line and rebuild the Libary, all Tracks are back!

              OK, thank you.
The same problem with: "comment Songs-DB_Custom3,0,NVARCHAR(150)"
I think that the problem are the special characters like the minus sign and the brackets.

And by the way: This is a really great program! I like it very much!

                I'm having similiar difficulties.

When things don't work, I've found the instructions at http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=18968 are a little vague on details that would indicate if the process has been completed properly or not.

I've created a tag named "COLLECTION" so I can separate my music from my wifes music. It was created with Mp3tag. I verified the tag name with dBpoweramp Music Converter.

I added this line for it:
                COLLECTION,0,NVARCHAR(20)

When you've added a new tag to MediaDatabaseFields should it appear in the "selected" list? Or will it not appear and you have to type it? If you have to type it, is it case sensitive? (the instructions suggest it is not).

I've manually entered "COLLECTION" but it doesn't display any tracks or options on the PS3.

Does that mean I've done something wrong?

I just realised my issue is the exactly the same as reported by olix. My Library still contains tracks, just not under my newly created tag.

                        I did, yes.

Is there a way to verify if it should have worked without looking at the PS3?

In the installation folder is a umedialibrary-dumpdb.exe if you run this then copy the results to Excel it will show if the tags have been read.

                            Re: Adding Language Tag

I ran that file and the resulting text document didn't show that COLLECTION had been added.

Strangely though, it showed a different library contents also. Because the rescans take so long I removed all items and added just two albums to test with. umedialibrary-dumpdb.exe shows a previous collection.

What is frustrating though is that I decided to uninstall Asset. I deleted the folder C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\dBpoweramp\ to clear settings to default, then I reinstalled Asset. But asset has remembered all my settings. But at the same time umedialibrary-dumpdb.exe generates an empty document.

C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\dBpoweramp\ obviously isn't the folder Asset is storing it's settings, but it's the only folder I could find, but the folder was not recreated after the install. The instructions about referring to registery keys do not match up under Win7. And the keys I can find point to invalid and, I suspect, mistakenly calculated folder paths (it has the path set for an AppData folder in System32).

Any chance Asset is not Win7 compatiable? The information in the stickies don't come close to matching the regkeys and folders I'm seeing (even when you take into account Win7 is using new names for most folders).

I should note that I'm running Asset as a service.

Ok, that's my problem. I really should have clicked that it wouldn't be storing settings in %APPDATA% when running as a service. So where does it keep it's settings when running as a service?

After switching to running Asset in the local account mode, I'm having a little more success with my edits. I still don't see anything under "Collection" on the PS3, but uMediaLibrary-dumpdb.exe reveals that the tag has been picked up.
