Contributing Artists with Main Artists

Can anyone explain what the Contributing Artists with Main Artists option achieves (with examples) in the Asset UPnP Configuration Advanced Settings?

If you had a track with:

Artist 1; Artist 2

it would show Artist 2 in the main artist list if it is only on that track (and not a main artist its self).
