lowest spec pc to run asset?

Hi, Could you please tell me what the lowest spec PC would be to run asset and work happily with a Linn DS? I don't really want to go the NAS route yet so I'm looking to use something like a netbook PC with a 2.5inch ext usb drive as the server. Basically this one PC will need to do everything that is required to work the DS using Asset.

Any ATOM, with XP 1GB, Vista 2GB of memory.
