dBpowerAMP Music Converter R10 Beta 2

This one should fix all id3v2 tagging issues (where a v1 tag was also present), I have not been able <yet> to add the options to set which version of IDtag should be written (1.0 1.1 2.2 2.3), I am seeking outside help

There are a few bug fixes, Rip to Ram popup page is no more, ABR should now work correctly, download:

    1.6MB

    ============
    Changes

Includes Ogg Vorbis decoding as standard
Atlast the Convert To menu now ignores case (so 'a' would not be placed at the bottom)
dMC Configuration shows Sveta Device drivers installed
dMC Audio CD Input - Bug Fix on getting Multi Artists from CDPlayer / Registry Cache
Rip to Ram page now removed, it shows the speed and status on the action line
Mp3 popup info now displays id3v1/2 version number (ie ID3v2.2)
Displays version number of CD Writer (beta 3 onwards)
Bug Fix: Windows 95 was not adding 'Edit Tag' on right click
Bug Fix: Mp3 (Lame) encoder not setting up ABR encodings correctly
Bug Fix: Professional Frequency Conversion was always on for Wave conversions, even if option was switched off in config

Hey Spoon! I'm gonna buy powerpack in a few weeks, and I was using the Auxiliary Input function of DB poweramp.

I am recording a tape that has NO gaps in it whatsoever, each song flows with the next, so I completly rely on the Smart Track Length feature of the powerpack. Could you add an "AutoStart at end of smart track length" or continuous recording with track splittling? So there is little as a gap as possible between songs?

P.S. very very small bug: When you type "0" for the number of MS on the AutoStart Page the music converter crashes.

    Thanks!

Seems to work fine. One 'buglet' - when communicating with FreeDB it still says 'CDDB' on the status bar in dMC Audio CD Input.

The ABR fix is great, now it means I can use it more often .

          VBR problem with beta ?

          Hi,

I use the beta version of dMC (v. 4.0.0.53) with registred version of power pack.

When I choose Standard presets, I have the availability to change VBR max setting (default 224).

I change it to max 256 and valid.
If I encode, the max still at 224.

When we use such preset, is that possible to change the max VBR ?

          Thank you !

You would have to examine each preset and what overriding settings it has. I think the Alt presets override the max vbr.

I'm having the same problem. When the preset should be using 320Kbits/s as the max, it instead uses 224Kbits/s for the max even though I overrode it to 320Kbits/s. Because of the different max bitrate settings, dMC is producing different files to what the CLI Lame produces. It was working fine in the last version from memory :(

Will Lame 3.93.1 be included in the next beta? It was released 2 weeks ago.

I heard that the latest version of Lame has messed up the Alt presets, so it is better to wait for 3.94

                    Lame 93.1

I have been using lame 3.93.1 during days and it seems compatible with dMC Audio CD Input (with alt-presets-standard ).

I Have also check with debugging mode (lame_enc.ini in Windows directory). It seems to be OK.

I have also had sucess with 3.93.1 for normal conversions. Alt presets (FM) didn't work for me.

3.93 did indeed mess up the alt presets, hence the release of 3.93.1 . See http://lame.sourceforge.net/history.html for more.

Stick with v3.92, I doubt it can get much better anyway. But there's always room for improvement.

                            (newbie to lame mistake)

All this time I have been using lame without any presets at all, and I was thinking lame was a bad encoder for songs under 128 kbps. It's the ABSOLUTE BEST encoder i've EVER used for 80 kbps, but Fhg(lot of money) still sounds better at 64.(rio 500)

I was told to get the beta because of some problems with the other version but I get that the file does not exist.
