Meta Data

Plenty have been anticipating Batch Rippers final(ish) Meta data statement:

Our providers will be:

AMG
GD3
Musicbrainz
freedb

Musicbrainz & freedb have no usage restrictions.

For commercial use:

AMG access will be purchased through illustrate, initially we will charge $0.07 per CD lookup, with the possibility of this rate dropping to $0.05 once certain lookup milestones are reached.

GD3, provision for entering a username and password, users have to open their own accounts on GD3 and pay per lookup.

Non Commercial users:

AMG: existing $5 AMG licences will allow 400 lookups through AMG. Once 400 lookups are reached, to continue to use AMG a commercial per disc rate is paid (so $7 for 100 cds extra).

GD3 it is possible to open own account on gd3 and pay per cd lookup.

Manual Meta Data Review / Input Added. This will show meta data from all active providers, meta which matches the final meta data is shown in black, those which do not match in Red. Left clicking on a Red item sets it to be used.

Beta 6 adds the manual adding of album art (from file, paste from clipboard or aquire from a scanner).
Also shows how many non-commercial lookups are remaining.

meta option - option to ' & ' from artist names to multi items, option to 'feat.' 'ft.' (default on)
meta option - only retrieve gd3 if no amg
meta option - show manual review if non-latin meta

meta data retrieval put on to con-current threads (saves 6 seconds per cd, with all 4 providers on)

bug fix: compilation flag set correctly for AMG and freedb (was messing up manual review page)
bug fix: was labelling a cd as compilation if had data track (cd extra), datatrack now not added to tag list
bug fix: amg - all tracks there - 1 missing from meta it was not filled in at all - no artist, no album so auto get
bug fix: album art section of manual review now shows for 1400x and above

Note on Meta >> AMG there is a purchase option, it is possible to create a commercial lookup account, although it is currently not possible to add lookups to the account, this will change in an expected 3 weeks on release.

Update 8th February

We are getting very close to full release, just waiting on AMG to finalize (and setup an online shop to handle purchases). The main addition to this update is the Intelligent meta data which looks over all enabled providers to pull out 'best results'.

Before installing this release install the latest Music Converter R13 Alpha.

Changes:

meta option if 2 words seperated by comma (artist name) then reverse and remove comma
Be able to toggle the "CD Same As Last" error on and off
RC Results (also reject) option to delete files of just that disc
With Batch >> Option to clear results from all batches
Inteligent Meta Added
Option to set expected disc type (only amg is able to pull disc count, so will put amg count to other meta providers ensuring a match during intel meta)
If reject manually on meta review then album name is shown in reject results
manual review - quick button to set caplitalzation of first letters of words
manual review - submit to amg button
Added BatchDiscNumber, MetaProvider, Profile ID Tag / Naming Attributes

Bug Fix: fixed crash if close batchripper whilst ripping
Bug Fix - if disc is not in any db - then is getting 'unknown artist' and not showing manual review

Updated to Release Candidate 1, changes:

Manual Meta changes to prevent possible 100% CPU lockup

detect 'xxxx, yyyy' and swap to 'yyyy xxxx' improved
album art filled on tracks missing from amg

amg year could have zz in, now removed

option to delete rejected disc audio files (in with batch >> )

With Batch >> Delete files option should delete the folder.jpg

Fixed: Smart Captalize: Error in Composer field when 'Joe Blogs; John Smith' got changed to 'Joe Blogs; john Smith'.

Album Artist not set if is various or various artists

if disc > 1 then is a multi cd set so add disc number (was previously only using disc total which freedb, mb and gd3 do not have)

amg commerical lookups now live - $0.07 per lookup
freedb / amg / gd3 - if title contians disc 1, then sets disc count to 2, if above 2 then set to that number (needed to identify box sets)
freedb - bug fix for multiline titles
Twain Scanner init taken out of manual meta until used (might be causing crashing)

added debug mode (shows in text file info on program exit, switch on from Batch Ripper Configuration)
when running Converter (With Batch >>) possible to use [batchid] [batchname] ** requires latest R13 alpha
also (With Batch >>) no longer locks batch ripper whilst converting ** requires latest R13 alpha

manual review: only 1 can be displayed at once (might fix freezing issue)

Multi disc number bug fixed (would not add disc 1 to album title)
Default option for AMG disc to take prefference (GD3, MusicBrainz and freedb do not have disc totals)
