I can't find a player that will play ogg files. Will winamp or windows media 9
play these files? Or can they be converted to mp3's. :vmad:

Thanks for the help! :D

dBpowerAMP plays them.

Donwload the Audio Player and the Converter programs from Products and the ogg codec from Codec Central.

Make sure to install correctly and in the right order and to the proper folder. The default installation is best.

I use dAP (dBpowerAMP Audio Player) myself. I am sure WinAmp can play Ogg but it needs a plug-in to be able to read Ogg. I do not believe that WMP can play Ogg. Foobar 2000 can play Ogg, as can some other programs.

You can convert Ogg to mp3 to play in programs that do not support Ogg but that kind of defeats the purpose.

Actually, versions of Winamp after about 2.8x or so, I believe, can play Ogg Vorbis files just fine with no extra plugins, its built-in.

WMP can be used to play ogg files as long as you install a directshow filter that supports the format.

Wayne is correct about WMP.
A more complete list of software players supporting ogg vorbis (for a variety of operating systems) is available here:
