Dither?

Hi I just downloaded DMC11r1. I have a question about dithering and when to use it. Also is it usefull for both lossy and lossless codecs? My soundcard is 24/96 capable. If I may add DMC11r1 an excellent piece of work,just wonderfull.

It depends on what you do, if you are just ripping a CD to lossless, or mp3 then no need - the record label has already dithered, but if you use any sort of processing (volume normalize, or EQ) then it is worth first 'To 24 Bit' then do processing, then 'To 16 Bit (dither)'.
