I recently upgraded my windows 98 compaq to windows xp..now when i try coverting mp3 to wav, the wavs are skipping.

Try converting the wave back to mp3, might be a problem playing wave.

My current wavs play fine, mp3s play fine, but after converting, not fine : ( ..is there any ideas on how i might fix this problem?

Try converting mp3 >> wave >> mp3, does the final mp3 file play ok?

I did as you suggested, the final mp3 now sounds like the wav, aaacckk!

Install the latest R10 from beta section on this web and convert to wave with everything set to [as source]

I am real sorry, but can you tell me what is R10 and where do i get it? i've looked all over,but dont see anything. If its much more than download and click, I'm lost.

ok this works as long as i leave the settings as is.. it converts to PMC, which i can then covert to a smaller mpeg wav file, that is my main objective, but it still wont work for me on the regular settings. It could be some malfunction on my pc since it was upgraded at home and not done proffesional. : ( ..thanks for all your help!

Try using a larger bitrate.
