Volume Control?

Can dbpoweramp rip CD's to the same volume? What do you do to maintain an even volume with your collection? I have been playing around with mp3gain, and iTune's Volume Control in file properties. I do not want tracks to clip, so maintaining the best sound is important to me. So far, I have kept all files at ripped levels, but some albums are extremely low volume. Any suggestions?

I do not really understand how it works. Should I just use the default settings? I think the max gain is set to 8. Will that clip tracks? I examined the tracks using mp3gain, and every track was at 89db.

As long as you have ReplayGain (track gain) selected there is no clipping as replaygain reduces the volume of all tracks relative to a certain level.
