View Full Version : Get things like "track number" in *WINDOWS* properties for a track?

Hi,
In Windows XP, if I've got an Explorer window open &
am viewing a directory containing tracks ripped by dBpoweramp, I never see any additional information
that one can request Windows to display (e.g.,
track number).
(You can see the items potentially available to Windows
by right clicking on a column header ... there are about
15 to 30 of them.)

How does one get dBpoweramp to setup those
properties/attributes/whatever for each file?
(It clearly knows the info...within dBpoweramp I can
ask about the file and get the info ... but I want it
in the Windows window, too :)

I'm not asking about showing the info in dBpoweramp!

thanks!

That will only work for file types that Windows understands, which I believe is limited to mp3 and WMA by default. However, if you turn on dMC Explorer Columns, turn on the dMC column for the data you want and dMC will show the data it pulls from the file.

Thanks!

After you pointed that out, I can see it with existing
MP3 files.

Now, to find out how to get dBpoweramp to translate
spaces to underscores when generating filenames... :)

Re: spaces/underscores

Hmm...I see I'm not the first to ask for that :)

Suggestion: [title_] would mean [title] + translate
spaces to underscores. (A somewhat special purpose
kludge, but an easy one to implement, probably less new
coding then adding an EAC-like checkbox "[ ] translate blanks to underscores in filenames" (which would be
simpler to use).

thanks,

Stan
