Everytime I try to run the software and rip a cd it gives me a run time error message and the program shuts down.
How can I fix this problem?
Thanks,
Steve Clevenger

What OS are you using? What version of dMC (Start --> Programs --> dBpoweramp Music Converter --> Configuration --> dBpoweramp Configuration) are you using? Are you using the CD ripper or MusicConverter itself? Are you on an Administrator account? What format are you converting to? Is it an internal or external CD drive?

I am running Windows XP. I just downloaded dBpoweramp Music Converter Jan 31.
I was using the trail version as found on http://www.sermonaudio.com/help_encoding.asp
but when I purchased the software it was a different version that I was using weeks before. The one I purchased must be a newer version.
But it keeps giving me a run time error message.
Thanks,
Steve

Check dBpoweramp Configuration (or dMC Configuration) and see what your version is. Around the time you downloaded dMC was the time that dMC r12 was released, but r11.5 was the version that people downloaded after their purchase. Don't worry, you can upgrade to r12 for free. Just have your order number handy and go here: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/registration/
You are trying to conver to a 16kbps mp3, as stated on your link?

If you purchased dMC over two weeks ago, follow the link I gave (http://www.dbpoweramp.com/registration/) to download a new installer. If the purchase has been within two weeks, or the link says it doesn't recognize your order number, follow the instructions here: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/announcement.php?f=10&announcementid=8
Also, it is recommended to do a total uninstall when having trouble. This process is explained here: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=6828

I uninstalled and reinstaled and the problem continues.
The older trail version was simple to use and worked fine on my machine, is there a way for me to download it?
Thanks,
Steve

Mp3 Lame Encoder: Forcing Frequency or Channels (on advanced) can crash CoreConverter
Affected: Release 12.0
Fix: Run this registry file to switch on Professional Frequency conversion:
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/beta/SwitchOnProFreq.reg
Important, save this file to you computer before running (Windows will ask if it should be inserted into registry, select yes), then remove file.
NB: The very next beta release (or new Release R12.1) will fix this
How do I remove the file?
Thanks,
Steve

To undo what the file does, right-click on the file and click edit, then replace the file contents with the following:Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Illustrate\dBpowerAMP]
"dMCProfFreqConversion"=dword:00000000

There is no need to undo the contents of that file.
To remove the file, right click on it and select delete.
