    Converting to realmedia-file

As a new member of the forum, this is my first question.

I´ve just made a test, converting a 1 minute Dalet PCM-file to RealMedia format. It took about 1'53''. Is it normal, it seem to me a very long time.?

Yes, it converts in 'real time' exactly the length of the original.

      Hi,

This doesn't sound quite right. The Real Audio encoder encodes
quicker than real-time (it's the Real decoder that does real-time).

SLN, could you give more info on your computer speed, OS, etc...
and can you convert the Dalet files to WAV quicker than real-time?

      Best regards,
      Daren.

P.S. Dalet .SND files are not PCM, they're MP2 with extra peak
      volume headers.

Mayby I was to quick yesterday to ask. Analyzing it ones more and more precise, I found that 1 minute of PCM 16-bit 48Khz 768Kbit/s monosound, generated by Dalet 5.1, convert to realmedia SureStream at the same samplingrate targetting up to 128Kbit/s takes about 40 seconds.
