You didn't confirm yet that you are using DMC
Auxilliary Input and recording STREAMING AUDIO. By the
way, are you using the Linux operating system?

Now that I look at it, the "time elapsed" looks funky during recording, it seems to be going way too fast.

    Please help!!

Edit: Also, the compression is at 2.2:1 or 43% when it's recorded to ape that sounds odd to me, is that right?

Adaywayne, I don't see the connection between different operating systems... Besides, if s/he were using Linux, wouldn't it be appropriate for him/her to tell us which distribution of Linux s/he is using, and that s/he is using WINE to make the files?

Neil, I had a good reason for asking that question.....we shall see!!! (Hint.....it had to do with her saying her soundcard software was from 1980....put your thinking cap on!!!! -

I can't find the connection still, but I will "see" as you say, later.

Neil, there were no sound cards as we now know them in 1980, but the ADI 1980 card is one of the most popular for the Linux system. Just a wild guess on my part!

Ok, let's assume that it IS the ADI 1980 card. Would this card cause any problems with the output files converted by dMC?

Have no idea, Neil. The lady doesn't seem to want to answer specific question. First she said the problem was fixed and then she implied it wasn't.

                      I'm confused

It is a SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio device from Analog Devices, Inc. It came with my Dell 4600 which really isn't very old. It's a Pentium 4 with 2.8 Ghz of processing power *shrugs* But it does have an atari sticker on it :P

I've updated the driver but system info still insists that it was last modified January of 1980 even though I'm sure the driver came out 2004.

I actually have no idea beyond that, on what my soundcard is, bit-wise or otherwise.

But I don't get any of these problems....i'm officially stumped right now.

He-he! The date field must have been left blak and it defaults to 1980 as the start date used for calculating all other dates in relation to.

Not very old is right. My PC is about 2 years old and it only has a 1.5GHz processor.

The atari sticker is maybe something quite different. Could it be saying ATAPI instead? http://www.stanford.edu/~csapuntz/ide.html

                                I'm betting on this

The DELL 4600 has in integrated sound card, so it should be standard fare.
