Still no progress. For that (local) folder, permissions are 'anyone can read and write'.
Nothing else appears to be 'holding' that folder, even Asset is turned off.
PerfectTunes is specifically added to permissions list.
What may be slightly odd is that in PerfectTunes settings, the relevant folder is not shown, just an empty field, so cannot be removed. It can, however, be added again but closing and opening will show it as empty once again.
Adding it then deleting straight away combined with 'clear cache' seems to do nothing, there is always a memory of the music folder, even if PerfectTunes is uninstalled and reinstalled.
Opening tag editor will simply point to the folder contents where you left off editing, as if nothing has happened.

I'd like you to send me a snapshot of your PerfectTUNES profile:
Open Finder, go to (cmd+shift+G) ~/Library, find PerfectTUNES folder, compress it and email to peter@dbpoweramp.com

Please also try resetting your PerfectTUNES profile - which uninstall/reinstall doesn't do - by renaming or deleting the above folder.

Looks like whole music folder has 'locked' flag set, at least doing this recreated the same symptoms (same rare error code) on my system.
Workaround:
In Terminal, type:
chflags -R nouchg [path]
Replace [path] with problem folder path.

Can anyone help with my issue, when i use id tags i can find the album cover but it will not save it to the file when double clicked, these are wav and flac files

This is something i do not understand what is the problem folders name ? Part of the software ? Not a programmer .

Surly this should work without all these issues ?

Peter wants to be sure that the software has write access to your files and that those are not locked i.e. by another software.

This needs to be explained in more detail so I can understand what your saying, I can paste into terminal but replace path with what ????

The path is the location you are saving the files to, we cannot tell you what that is, as it could be unique to your computer, if you browse in Finder then you can determine the path.

Nearly had enough of this never had such poor software and lack of good support!

Hello, just bought Perfectunes and also having problems with ID tag.
- files (AIFF and ALAC) are located on local harddrive (music folder)
- folder and file permissions are set to allow reads and writes

-Changing the album artist ID on AIFF file works with no problems
-Try do the same on a ALAC file (.m4a) and get an error "Unable to write ID tags to: XXXXX, Check these files can be written to."
- if I manually change the ID tag via file explorer and clicking on properties, that works no problems.

- Curiously I am able to edit the ID tag using the dBpoweramp batch converter (both editing a single file or multiple files)


This points to an issue with PerfecTunes.
Running windows version (downloaded the s/w yesterday 20FEB2024)
Can you please assist?
