    ISRC Code

Relative newbie to ripping my relatively modest (2000) collection of CDs.

Noticed that some tracks have this ISRC code and others do not. Is it essential in any way?

What exactly is an ISRC Code and what is it used for? I'm assuming it has no impact on audio quality of rip?

    Thanks

    Quoted from here:
The International Standard Recording Code (ISRC) system is the international system for the identification of recorded music and music videos. Each ISRC is a unique identifier that can be permanently encoded into a recording or music video. Encoded ISRCs automatically identify recordings for PPL payments.
It's a non-essential tag, and tags can't affect the quality of the rip.
