    Asus BW-16D1X-U database offset

    Hello Accuraterip DBpoweramp forum ,

I would like to rip my CDs with exact audio copy and Accuraterip.

My drive is the ASUS BW-16D1X-U

Unfortunately this is not in the Accuraterip drive database at the moment.

I have used 4 key disks with no results. I cannot use Accuraterip with EAC.

Can the drive be added? thanks for the effort and sorry for my bad writing style :-)

    Greetings Ron from the Netherlands.

just keep inserting key disks. some people can set up AR with one disk, others take 30.

Re: Asus BW-16D1X-U Accurate database offset edit

I have entered at least 30 to 40 CDs with no results now.

Of that number of CDs, only 6 are approved as key discs.
They are all mainstream discs and no rare editions.

Adding it to the accurate drive database without success.

It's a shame that I wouldn't be able to use this rather expensive drive for ripping with Accuraterip

Do I need another diskdrive to use AccurateRip?

Is there a way [someone] can add the drive Asus BW-16D1X-U to the Accurate offset database.

        Sincerely Ron.

Choosing a different drive already in accuraterip is much quicker to configure.

Given you've found 6 key discs does EAC not configure AccurateRip? I've never had a drive that wasn't in the database, but I assume it would scan the disc and detect the offset.

I guess it depends what you mean by "mainstream", but for key discs you're really looking for those that have only had a single pressing, so regional compilations work best for me.

You can obviously check the rip afterwards with PerfectTunes or CUETools but I know that's not ideal.

I think this is the only way. Too bad about this discdrive.

Hello Sinbun,.. the mainstream albums I mean are albums by Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Coldplay, Kate Bush, Massive Attack etc.

                These are mainly European pressings/releases

that's the issue. There are lots of different pressings of these CDs.

                    Yes !!

I looked for a number of CDs in my collection that are 100% USA releases.
The first CD in the disc drive was an instant hit. (George Benson Breezin)

                    I got the message;

Congratulations Accuraterip has been set up correctly
                    Asus BW-16D1X-U offset +6.

I rip with an accuraterip control now.

I'm very happy with it, persistence wins :-)
