I've received the Beatles deluxe 5 cd Revolver boxset. The last 4 track ep is showing the metadata of Helmut Lotti !! Why is this happening? How can I sort this?

things like this happen occasionally. But the rips are good and the AR matches are good. Just manually change the metadata when ripping or after the fact.

Thanks Garym. I tried the other metadata sites and was still the same. The CD text did show the right metadata.
Is the acuraterip results for the correct CD?
No concerns that I need to replace the boxset and rerip?

Is the metadata related to the CD tracks? How is the metadata obtained?

Yes. I remember you and your prior name. AR matches are NOT a function of the metadata. It is based on the actual audio bits. Metadata comes from online databases and is sometimes wrong. But the AR matches come from the AR database and are correct. So nothing to worry about. Even for a worrier like you. Happy Christmas.

AFAIR a chcksum is calculated based on the TOC (table of content) to find the right metadata in the databases. With the increasing number of CD releases the chances to have identical checksums for different CDs increase.

It would not matter if AccurateRip had a clash, because it is based on positive matching, and can have multiple different discs using the same slot in the database, as that is how pressings are stored, they are effectively different discs as far as AR is concerned. A match is a match with someone with the same disc you have.
