New CD fails to rip on Multiple (2) Drives

    Hello,

I just bought a brand new (6 disc) box set and I'm having issues with inaccurate rips off of it.

If certain discs are giving me inaccurate rips of the same tracks on different drives is it safe to say there's something wrong with the disc I'm trying to rip on the manufacturing side? I guess I'm just looking for ways to troubleshoot this. Thank you.

If none of the tracks give an accuraterip, then it is a good bet the disc is a different pressing to the ones stored in accuraterip.

The thing is that between my two drives I've gotten almost all of the tracks to accuraterip but there's a handful of them that fail to get accuraterip on both of my drives. Does that sound like a manufacturing error on the CDs? Or should I try another external drive maybe? Thank you for your quick response!

          Sounds like a manufacturing defect.

and always worth listening to the tracks to see if there is an audible problem (click or skip). Often there is not. A frame being off can cause a non-AR match. But a even several frames not matching may only represent miliseconds of time and will not be auditble.

I think I had a similar issue with a disc yesterday. The results I got were:

              X AR (7) Y Secure
              X AR (7) Y Secure
              X AR (6) Y Secure
              X AR (6) Y Secure

Given this happened on every single track it leads me to believe the pressing I have is not in the AccurateRip database (yet).

I connected two drives to my Mac. The result was a disaster. With one drive ripping is smooth but with two drives they both is very noisy as if the laser is jumping back and forth. Ripping is multiple times slower than it is running just one drive.

I tried to rip multiple CDs with Apple Music. Much smoother and faster. I don't want my tracks to end up in Apple Music, hence I use dBpoweramp as the ripper. I excpected it should be faster with two drives, but not in dBpoweramp.

Because it doesn't care about read errors and sound quality...

I have ripped two CDs at once with two drives connected. Be sure you start two instances of dbpa ripper, one for each drive.
