Well, I'd never put Pink Floyd as Floyd, Pink as the artist either. The name is of a band, not a person?

correct. But some of monsterjazzlick's tagging questions are that obvious/odd to me.

            Hi,

For Carole King's track (From 'Tapestry') "A Natural Woman":

would you place the bracketed wording before or after the un-bracketed, please? So:
A Natural Woman (You Make Me Feel Like)

(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman

I am asking from the perspective of which would be best for searching etc.

            Paul

              Hi Paul,

Before, simply because that's how it was written. It should come up in search, whichever way you write it.

              KISS!!

                Thanks Oggy.

                I still don't understand the KISS reference/joke?

                  Hi Paul,

Keep it simple, stupid. No offence meant to anyone, just one of those expressions that suggests that sometimes the easiest solution may be the best: no need to overthink.

                    OK, thanks.

I just never heard that expression before?! No worries.

KISS, the opposite of Rube Goldberg. As an engineer, I've been told to do that, over and over, from very early in my career.

                          Hi Schimdj,

In the UK, we tend to use Heath Robinson - for the very same reason.

                            Hi,

I am ripping an Eric Clapton double-CD (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Complete_Clapton) and a couple of the tracks are with:
                            Derek & the Dominos

I am using Clapton as the ALBUM-ARTIST and (for two tracks) 'Derek & the Dominos' as the ARTIST. I am not sure how to tag the latter in ARTIST-SORT, please?:
                            'Derek & the Dominos'?

I ask because I have never ripped a CD where the artist uses his christian-name, separated by an ampersand, followed by the name of the group. It does not occur too much in Jazz (though I do see it cropping up in a lot in some of my 60s music).

                            Thanks,

                            Paul

Derek is not his actual name. Derek and the Dominos is just a made up band name.
                              I would put The following
                              ALBUMARTIST: Eric Clapton
                              ALBUMARTISTSORT: Clapton, Eric
                              ARTIST: Derek & the Dominos
                              ARTISTSORT: Derek & the Dominos

                                Hi Paul,

I would also use as garym suggested. As you go for accurate naming, I'd just mention that I have never seen Derek And The Dominos written with an ampersand, and both Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs and Live At The Filmore use, Derek And The Dominos.
