    Re-rip?

I am running into a problem with REALLY SLOW, ripping. Gettin a re-rip (*** frames) message, and some of the rips are taking hours. Also getting messages that say secure, or insecure. What does it all mean? Is there someplace on the Internet I can go and read about these anaomolies?

Uncheck C2 pointers if you have them enabled.

I will try that when I get back. Could you elaborate?

Your drive most likely does not support it correctly.

About half the drives I have don't properly support C2 pointers (even if they report that they do). Unticking "use C2 pointers" in CD Ripper options/settings solves the problem.

I am not sure if I am finding the C2 pointer box correctly. It is not in the main menu. I found something about C2 in secure setting, but it is not checked. Is there a different place to look?

correct, it is a tick box under the "secure" ripper settings. If already unchecked, there must be a different issue causing your problem.
