    Windows Control Points & Transcoding

Hi I am trying to transcode from apple lossless to wave but only for windows media player. If i transcode for everything then windows media player works ok. However i cannot seem to get it to work in the rules based profiles. There is an existing entry for =Windows-Media-Player/12 that i added
    [ForceToWAVE]
    .m4a

but it doesn't appear to work.
The know control point is listed as:
    Microsoft-Windows/6.3 UPnP/1.0 Windows-Media-Player/12.0

    OSX registered version

    any ideas? thanks

    [ForceToWAVE]

And if you remove that line, and set m4a to 'as wave' it plays?

If you can enable debug logging in Asset, and play a file (when as wave) so it works, save the log, then make the change with this off and enable in the override settings and then play again and email the 2 logs please:

It is a known issue, if you put the whole complete name of the control point on the override page it will work.

I added a new entry, I copied and pasted the whole of the control point shown on the RHS but it still doesn't work.

Try the R4.5 release in the testing section of this forum please.

Also note you have to get WMP to rescan Asset, as it internally caches all the tracks.

I tried it and it didn't work. Also the folders & filename browsing didn't seem to work in the beta either so i have gone back to the released version.
