    Some Tunein radio sations won't play

    I'm trying to setup the Internet Radio/Tunein. I'm using a Yamaha receiver to listen to radio stations with the Asset server.

    A couple of my presets work after a 10 or 15 second delay - buffering?
    Most of the radio stations won't play at all - are some Tunein stations in a format not supported by Asset?

    I have the radio set to radio to "radio as mp3" - I've tried the other radio settings (as is, as wav, as lpcm, as single).

    I have MP3 set to 320 - also tried at 256. (This probably doesn't matter?)

    Maximum set to any; any frequency; any channels

    Tried with Apply ReplayGain on and off (This probably doesn't matter?)

    None of the Excluded types are checked.

    Any help for guidance appreciated.

    Try asset r4.2 (in the beta section of this forum).

      Installed the beta version - still having the same issues - some channels won't play, others have a 10 second delay.

      Is it the format of the channels? If so, which formats aren't supported?

      Thanks

        10 seconds is correct it is the internal buffer. mp3, ogg and wma should be supported.

          There are a lot of radio stations streaming AAC. Perhaps that is it.

            We do not list those.

              Thanks - the stations that won't work are "favorites" that predate my implementation of the Asset server - maybe that are AAC. No way to get AAC working?

                Re: Some Tunein radio sations won't play

                Hi I am running the trial version on WHS 2011* and am having a similar problem - not many stations appear to work for me. I have tried Skifta and BubbleUPnP on Android for rendering so far.

                For example, fomr the logs, BBC 6Music did work for me:
                Streaming 'http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/listen/live/r6.asx'
                ->-> [clDecoder::Open]

                WMA Opening Stream 'mms://wmlive-acl.bbc.co.uk/wms/bbc_ami/6music/6music_bb_live_ep1_sl0?BBC-UID=35c2c82904aa7a5352fdcfe581eee733eb766a9760e061 44440f899774b34d45&SSO2-UID=' [clDecoder::Open]
                ...
                But FIP or Triple J did not:
                Streaming 'http://www.tv-radio.com/station/fip_mp3/fip_mp3-128k.m3u'
                ->-> [clDecoder::Open]
                Opening file 'http://www.tv-radio.com/station/fip_mp3/fip_mp3-128k.m3u' for read access: *** Error: Error opening file 'http://www.tv-radio.com/station/fip_mp3/fip_mp3-128k.m3u'check no other program has it open. [clDecoder::Open]

                Serve Entity Set to: audio/mpeg
                Streaming 'http://abc.net.au/res/streaming/audio/mp3/triplej.pls'
                ->-> [clDecoder::Open]
                Opening file 'http://abc.net.au/res/streaming/audio/mp3/triplej.pls' for read access: *** Error: Error opening file 'http://abc.net.au/res/streaming/audio/mp3/triplej.pls'check no other program has it open. [clDecoder::Open]

                Serve Entity Set to: audio/mpeg
                Is that a renderer or a server error?

                * I couldn't see a beta version for WHS 2001 on the forum.

                  Re: Some Tunein radio sations won't play

                  I'm also experiencing some issues with certain Tunein stations not playing through Asset. I've found I can play these sites directly through Tunein's website with no problem.

                  I get the error below when I try to play station "Audiophile Baroque":
                  Content Range: 0 to -1
                  Decodes [clDecoder::Get]

                  Streaming 'http://50.7.173.162:8010'
                  ->-> [clDecoder::Open]
                  Opening file 'http://50.7.173.162:8010' for read access: *** Error: Error opening file 'http://50.7.173.162:8010'check no other program has it open. [clDecoder::Open]

                  Serve Entity Set to: audio/mpeg
                  The curious thing is that this station used to play just fine with Asset. Perhaps the radio station server is blocking Asset?

                  I've also started seeing more of "*** Error: Error opening file 'xxx'check no other program has it open." with other Tunein stations I like to listen to.

                  I'm using Asset R4.1 on a Win7 64bit desktop, Bubble UPNP on Android as the control point, and a BDP-103 as the renderer. Any ideas?
