While evaluating the Music Convertor R14.3 Trial, I tried to delete all ID3 data from a mp3 file, and store updated info (only title, artist and album). These ID3 frames should be in ANSI, or more precisely iso-latin-1. In this way, my MP3 radio can display the meta-data correctly.
I installed the additional ID Tag Update codec R3 from the website. Furthermore, the advanced options in the codecs tab of dbpoweramp configuration are as follows:
mp3 ID tagging
- Tag Creation: ID3v2
- ID3v1 Version: 1.1
- ID3v2 Version: 2.3
- ID3v2 Text Encoding: ANSI
Unfortunately, trying the GUI (Music Convertor) and command line processor (CoreConvertor) on Windows 7, all meta-data ends up to be ASCII instead of ANSI. Remember, UTF-8 or UTF-16 (Unicode stuff) is not an option because my mp3 radio can't deal with this text encoding. An example:
CoreConverter.exe -infile="mymp3file.mp3" -outfile="< [ID Tag Update] >" -convert_to="[ID Tag Update]" -delall0 -add0="Artist=Noël" -add1="Title=Moi à toi" -add2="Album=Préférence"
When I check the meta-data with Windows Explorer (and other tools), I get: Noel, Moi a toi, and Preference.
Did I do something wrong?
