    Looking for SoX plug-in

    Any chance the SoX plug-in can be added for dithering and downsampling in future updates?

    I already use it in foobar and would love to see it in dBpoweramp.

      dBpoweramp has its own dither (Triangular based) and downsampling DSP effects (based on SSRC), I do not see SoX offering any extra quality in this area.

        Well that's too bad. I guess I'll have to continue to use foobar2000 / SoX for downsampling and use dBpoweramp for most everything else.

        Google up the discussions about SSRC vs. SoX and you'll see what I mean.

          Our SSRC implementation is the higher precision one.

          SSRC can hold its own against every resampler.

            (and foobar's SoX is even faster as it's SSE optimized).

            It's also buggy—evident if the first graph (44100 -> 96000 ssrc) of that post, but if you look deeper, the bug's in the _hp version too.

            It lacks a minimum-phase option and the ability to convert between arbitrary rates.

            Its "insanely" steep cut-off causes more clipping than other resamplers.

            It introduces sample and sub-sample delays: unnecessary and undesirable for audio conversion.

            It was good in its day, but there are better, freely available alternatives now.
