How to get CDRipper recognize a CD-Rom on a networked computer

I have CDRipper on my desktop, however my desktop does not have a DVD/CDROM drive (took it out to put in a 2nd hard drive). I use the DVD/CDROM player on my laptop which is connected via my network. When I start CDRipper it says no cd drive found.

Any suggestions on how to get it to recognize the DVD/CDROM on the laptop via the network? The laptop's DVD/CDROM is mapped as drive Z:

    Thank you

It is not possible as direct (local) access to the drive is required.
