WASAPI / PC Sound Capture limited to 16/44100?

I have my WASAPI playback/rec set to 24/96. Asset only seems to be able to output L16 16/44100?
I this the case?
WASAPI to FLAC would be a nice solution.
Any ASIO interface capture capability in the works?
