FLAC identification tags to Quicktime to fool iTunes

Apparently, you can convert the FLAC file identification tag to fool iTunes into thinking FLACs are Quicktime files which allows iTunes to recognize these and play them. There is a Mac tool here which can alter the file:

Has anyone tried something like this out?

Something like this seems like a natural fit for dMC as we already have the writer/parsers in place for Apple.
