Custom tag "Involved people list" saved to mp3, not to wave

After adding the custom tag "Involved people list" to the mp3 (Lame) encoder, the info is saved to the IPLS frame in the mp3 file. However, the info is not saved when using the wave encoder. Is this by design or could this possibility be added to the wave encoder also?

this happens when using the default option (LIST & ID3) but not when using ID3 alone? Using ID3 alone however, the existence of the IPLS frame is not recognized by Batch Converter: after converting to mp3 the IPLS frame is not present in the mp3 file (using Unicode-16 or ANSI). Is there a special mapping I should use for this conversion?

Edit: the existence of the IPLS frame is also not recognized in aiff files.
