Ripping with multiple drives/controller question

I'm looking to buy one of these:

3 bay enclosures, fill it up with IDE drives & connect it to a laptop.

The enclosure doesn't come with a controller so I will have to purchase one of those as well. Does anyone recommend a specific IDE to USB controller? I've heard (possibly incorrectly) that some controllers don't handle c2 ... Any suggestions, ideas?
