Looking for an opinion about a hard to rip disc.

So there is this disc that I am having trouble ripping. The disc in question has copy control technology, but that usually has not prevented me from ripping such discs. I have several copy protected discs that rip just fine. But this disc is giving me problems.

On most of my CD drives, the ripping process aborts because I have set up the ripper to do so if more than 100 frames needs to be re-ripped. There is one drive that will rip the CD accurately, but it takes a long time because it, too, needs to re-rip frames. It sometimes takes over ten minutes to rip just one track; but I do eventually get accurate rips with this drive (confidence numbers of 15, give or take). My question is, can I trust these numbers? Or would I be safer to use the "defective by design" mode?

Often with these discs, you are best ripping in Burst.
