    How to provide two flac and mp3

    I have a sonos system which does read flacs. Thus for sonos, I prefer to use flac.
    Additionally, I use a streaming client on iPod touch to acces the Asset Upnp.
    There I can't open/play flacs but mp3.

    So I configured the force encoding to encode flacs to mp3.

    But this is not the solution I'd like because this way, the sonos does receive mp3 as well.
    Isn't there a possibility to have access to both formats at the same time.

    I have stored the files in different folders using the same structure.

    Music -> Containing flac
    Music-MP3 -> Containing mp3

    Any solution?

    Re: How to provide two flac and mp3

    I don't have a sonos (use squeezeboxes), but have the same issue. I solve by having 3 directories

    x:\music\flac
    x:\music\mp3only
    x:\lossymusic

    I point my squeezebox to a the directory x:\music for its music library. so this picks up FLAC files and the mp3/aac files I have that have no flac counterpart.

    Then for my itunes library, I point it at x:\music\mp3only as the music library. And I also, go into itunes, select add folder, and add the x:\lossymusic folder. So in itunes I have the mp3only files and the lossy version of the flac files.

    Bottom line, no duplication within Squeezebox or itunes.
