Unable to reduce drive speed when ripping

    Hello,
I use the internal HL-DT-ST GSA31N of my Dell for ripping. I'm having problems with reducing the ripping speed to x4. With EAC this was no problem but I'd like to use dbpoweramp as I think these rips sound better. Under options I set everything to maximum speed x4 and still the drive rips a lot faster. I want to reduce the speed to make sure I get the best possible sound quality from my rips. Also, after setting everything as I want it under options it's like the program goes back into default setting as the next time I check options everything's gone back to maximum speed. Does anyone here know anything about this that might help me? Thanks in advance!

Maximum speed rarely works for the majority of drives. In fact, most drives are built to rip best at their highest speed.
