CD identification under dbpoweramp

Hi all,

I was curious as to how ripper programs (such as dbpoweramp and others that I shall not mention here!) identify the audio discs...
Do they just look at the CATALOG id of the disc / look at the ISRC codes of the underlying tracks / both? (Or even look at the length of tracks themselves?)

They used the track length, number of track, and possibly a few other things to determine what the CD is.
