CD Ripper v13.1 - Pauses Between Rips

    Hi,

I was using CD Ripper v13 with no problems. I recently upgraded to v13.1 and it's been acting up.

First off, the program auto-loads very slowly. Windows Vista will even say the program is not responding, but if I wait long enough the program will load the CD and download CD Info. correctly.

What's weird (and this is really bothering me) is there are odd pauses now between each track while ripping. Right after I click "Rip," the CD will start spinning, but won't actually begin ripping until 30 seconds later. Then after a track is ripped, there's maybe a 15 -20 second pause (the CD is still spinning) until the next track is ripped. This repeats itself until the CD is done ripping.

Anyone experiencing the same problems? I use Windows Vista and have a Pioneer DVD-RW IDE Drive.

    Thanks.

Check the option to spin up the drive for xx seconds is not set under options.

    Also restart windows fully.

Re: CD Ripper v13.1 - Pauses Between Rips

I haven't set up any spin up time for the drive and have restarted Windows fully.

I also tried ripping a CD in foobar2000 and experienced no problems, so it might be an incompatibility with v13.1 and my system.

Just to be sure, is there a way I can download the older v13 again and re-install that?

      Thanks.

Spoon - a suggestion for odd drive behaviors:

The free ImgBurn package ( http://www.imgburn.com/ ) has an option called "Tools/Filter Driver Load Order..." which shows all of the filter drivers on the system. It also has a Copy To Clipboard button which produces output, such as this from my thinkpad showing at seven (by my count) third-party filter drivers:

        Code:
        ===============================================

Might asking users with odd drive behaviors to provide this sometimes be useful?

Re: CD Ripper v13.1 - Pauses Between Rips

          Try running:

...also how to do a full reset of dBpoweramp? (if dBpoweramp crashes for some reason) Where does dBpoweramp save its files / settings? It is installed to c:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpoweramp or c:\Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp The 64 bit version of dBpoweramp is installed to: c:\Program Files\dBpoweramp It

To reset all settings, the reinstall the registered versions again - try a rip using the default settings after reinstalling.
