Computer shuts down during wma conversion

I have mp3 files over 100mb that I want to convert to 96k wma,
about 2/3 of the way through coversion Windows just shuts down. This never happened before, only recently.

Any advice and help would be much appreciated. Thanx in advance

Have version 9a and wma 9 codec
I am running a XP AMD 1700 256 DDR

Try converting first to Wave, then to mp3 - it might be something going from mp3 to wma direct...

Thanx, seems to have fixed the problem, but would have been better bypassing the WAV conversion however.
