"Dither" -- is it safe to leave on when bit rate unchanged?
Say I have a 'profile' for transcoding down, using Resample and then Bit Depth.
If I have 24/192 files and want to convert to 24/96 (or 24/48), is it safe to have the 'dither' turned on? Will the software ignore it if it's not actually doing a bit-length conversion?

Hello,
I just ripped many Audio CDs with dBpoweramp CD Ripper and my customer is reviewing his ALAC files using a Mark Levinson and seeing bitrates of 944 kbps and 906 kbps. Isn't the default for ALAC 1,411 kbps? If so, why weren't the audio tracks ripped at the higher rate? See the 2... -

Hello,
I'm a new registered user of Asset UPnP using WIndows 10 Pro (latest updates). Trying to resolve two (2) issues encountered after Asset UPnP's initial library scan of my music collection.
1. After scanning a large collection of MP3s (all encoded at 320K), rather... -
Converting an AAC Mono file to AAC Stereo, higher audio bitrate?
I hope someone can help with this issue. A client is sending me videos recorded with iPhone; with dual-channel MONO AAC-LC audio, an average of 89 kbps. It's mono but dual-channel. I'm editing with Premiere Pro, and on export, I choose H.264 with AAC-STEREO. (I guess it does not change anything it's... -
Filter by Bitrate
In the filter can there be a Bitrate filter.
I convert my music to 192 bitrate. So not to redo music already at 192 you could have <> 192 or < 192 so leaving anything higher to be left as is.

m4a AAC Encoder (FDK) bit rate argument not working?
Hi,
I'm using the dBPowerAmp free trial to simply convert files from mp3 and wav formats to m4a using m4a AAC Encoder (FDK) Release 1. My goal is to have m4a formatted files set at a bit rate of 128kbps.
I took perhaps a road less travelled, by writing a C* program to do... -
bitrate filter in batch
So... I have a sh*t ton of music in a folder (35k+ songs), diff bitrates and formats.
I need to batch convert only the files with > 256kbps to a different format/bitrate, can this be done? -
AAC bitrates can go higher?
Hello, hopefully this is the right place to post this.
Usually about 99% of the time when I convert flac, I convert to quality 1.00 vbr aac files, which is 425kbps, for portable devices and I usually convert to alac for itunes on the computer if I like an album so much, I do this mainly because... -
Adjusting bitrate over time
I saw a similar thread from way back but I didn't quite understand it so I'm starting a new one. I have a question regarding dbpoweramp and its mp3 compression. I've not used the software before but it seems really good.
Here's what I'm curious about:
Let's say we have a ten-minute... -
To DSP or not to DSP... that is the question
I have a mixture of around 70 stereo interleaved and mono 24 bit 48KHz wav files. If I want to resample to 44.1KHz/16 bit, is it better to specify the bit rate and sample size in the Music Convertor dropdown menus, or leave them set 'as source' and use the Bit Depth and Resample DSP effects?
