  1. Re: Automatically Naming Tracks in a FLAC file/folder

Tom, this should be an example to others that one should always look for the easy way out when faced with this type of problem. Sometimes you won't find one but for instance:

    dBpa finds no (or...

    Re: Volume normalizing

I think it is time to talk a little more about loudness control and replay gain. Iím sorry this is so long, but there is a lot of meat to chew on here.

The matter of controlling loudness when...

Once again, we have a user confused by replay gain. Gary has attempted to provide some guidance, but I'd like to provide some further information.

  4. Re: Automatically Naming Tracks in a FLAC file/folder

Music Brainz Picard has a fingerprint mode that does a pretty good job of identifying music, but it doesn't run on phones AFAIK, only on computers (Windows, Mac & Linux).

    Hi,

My setup is quite similar to Cary's. Currently a tower I built myself, a pretty fast Intel processor purchased in 2020, Windows 10 pro, 4 SATA drives in the tower, another 3 (soon to become...
  7. Re: Problem with downloading Batch Ripper and Nimbie Batch Ripper Driver. HELP!!

You should be downloading the software from the link in the email you got confirming your purchase, not the (trial) software on the "buy" page. Lost the link? Then scroll to the very bottom of the...
  8. Re: ID TAG UPDATE missing in BATCH CONVERTER (Windows_10 Ver. 16.6)

The actual site URL is https://www.mp3tag.de/en/. (in English) There is a link on the opening page for German. The community link in your last post is the correct one for their bulletin board.

  9. Re: Best codec to convert .wma files to in my particular case? (opinions)

You might try a service that matches audio fingerprints, like MusicBrainz Picard.

Re: Beginner question on dynamic naming

JohnnyB, what file format are you ripping to? FLAC? mp3? m4a? Possibly you said above, but on a PC? A Mac? There are some differences in tags between the different file formats.

    Also, you...

Re: Beginner question on dynamic naming

Gary, I just want to make sure that the OP is clear that the file names (as set by the naming string) have nothing to do with how the tracks appear or are sorted in the majority of players. (Unless...

Re: 17.7 Bug in tagging/file name

What is your naming string? That determines the file naming. If you are using the multi-encoder then please post the naming strings stored with each of the codecs the multi-encoder is using.

Re: Formatting wav files downloaded, not ripped

Question? Are the files you are downloading actually .wav files? Most downloads that are available are mp3 or m4a, or (often at a greater cost) lossless FLAC files.
