...also how to do a full reset of dBpoweramp? (if dBpoweramp crashes for some reason)
Where does dBpoweramp save its files / settings?
It is installed to c:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpoweramp or c:\Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp
The 64 bit version of dBpoweramp is installed to: c:\Program Files\dBpoweramp
It writes large settings as files to: Application Data\dBpoweramp
Saves small settings in the registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Illustrate
Why when uninstalling dBpoweramp are bits left behind?
Generally speaking, nothing should be left in Program files, unless a newer version of a codec / program was installed with different files and the older one was not uninstalled first.
Application data and registry entries are left behind, many people uninstall old versions before installing new, wiping their preferences would not go down too well.
We have created a utility to wipe dBpoweramp from these areas:
88 KB. Save this file to your HDD, then right click on it and select 'Run as Administrator'.
If clearing the Registry settings run a 2nd time normally not as Administrator (by double click).
