First copy the files to the location you want to use separately. Then run a batch conversion for the different Replaygain settings you want just on that location.

Yeah I know I can redo the entire ReplayGain for all the source material but I didn't want to do that. I would prefer to do it only on during the conversion to another format and leave the source material as-is.
The reason is, I prefer have an album gain that may cause clipping on a track or two, and to just adjust only those tracks to prevent clipping rather than adjust all album tracks (using album mode) to prevent clipping on just 1 or 2 tracks. My player for source files can do this, slightly lower the gain on only the occasional clipping tracks, leaving the gain alone for track that don't clip. The clipping gain is usually so minor that a slight reduce in gain isn't as noticeable as lowering the gain on the entire album is.
So I hoped to find a conversion process that can do the same. Looks like I may have to roll my own.Leave a comment:

Sorry for the late reply.
My issue is that the Album gain is already written to my library without clip prevention, so I rely on a player that will adjust it on the fly to prevent clipping only when necessary for a track during playback. Now however, I want to make a lossy copy of the library with ReplayGain applied to the new lossy files using that Album gain, so I can play it on a player that does not support ReplayGain. The ReplayGain (apply) DSP that I could use for conversion does not have an option to prevent clipping that I can find - only the regular ReplayGain DSP has that option.
So how do I prevent clipping with apply ReplainGain to track during conversion that already have ReplayGain album attributes that could cause clipping? I would like to apply this only to track that clip, adjusting them the minimum to prevent clipping.Leave a comment:

It is already handled that is the 'Disable Clip Prevention' option on the advanced page, ensure is not checked.Leave a comment:

ReplayGain (Apply), Album gain, and clip prevention
I have a lossless music library that has ReplayGain attributes and I would like to make a copy with converting to lossy. I see that I can do this by using the ReplayGain (Apply) DSP but I would like to use the Album Gain attribute when converting.
My question is, what happens to tracks that may get clipped if the Album gain is applied? This sometimes will happen on rare occasions. My previous solution would adjust the gain on just that track that would clip to prevent clipping when applying album gain - i.e. just make the one track a little quieter.
Is there any way to do this using the ReplayGain (Apply) DSP? Does it handle this already and if so, how? Is there another DSP I can put in the chain to limit clipping just for the tracks that clip? I don't want to reduce gain across the whole album - just those track that clip.Tags: None
