Try looking at volume normalization. It could be that your player has different audio paths for DSD or PCM.Leave a comment:

Hi,
When using DBPowerAmp to convert the DSF files to Flac without any DSP effects, the resulting flac plays back several db lower i.e. the original DSF plays louder than the converted Flac file? I am not using any replaygain or anything.
I would have expected the difference i.e. realizing DSD's are typically produced with lower db.
I would like to have to convert keeping as close as possible to native DSD but with FLAC container.
