I am having problems with my computer. Every night I set up a batch conversion set and sometime during the night my system will freeze. I am not (yet) blaming R12 for the freezes.
With the system frozen I am unable to tell if my batch conversion has generated any errors. I am reading the input data from DVDs and have had some problems reading these disks. So when the system doesn't freeze I see each of these disks has had some reading errors. I usually am able to read the flacs off the DVDs manually and then convert them to my desired format.
If the log was written out as each entry was made I would have a record of the errors. Without the log-on-disk I am forced to start the batch job over again from scratch.
I realize that I (possibly) have another problem with my system which is causing these problems. But in the windows environment shit happens. I think writing the errors to disk (like eac does) would be a benefit to all users.
