Just had the same problem. Currently using what is in essence a NAS drive (Melco N-1ZH). Some glitch kicked the NAS off-line, and re-booting the NAS fixed the problem. A more specific error message would have save me well over an hour. Thanks for an amazing product. I know a hard-core Mac-head who keeps a Windows computer specifically for ripping CDs with dBpoweramp! There is nothing else like it on the market. Nice support forum also. Didn't need to waste anybody's time. Just typed in error and clicked on the first link that looked close. Bingo - problems solved.

The error messages should be along the lines cannot open file, which is informing the location is not available.

I just went through the same thing -- I had changed hd on 2 pc's and could not rip cds on either. so glad for this post to remind me. Would be great if the program gave a message that the destination file location has a problem instead of showing an error on ripping.

Problem solved. dBpoweramp was trying to save the ripped files to the drive where the source CD was located. Once I corrected that little problem and sent the ripped file to the appropriate hard drive everything worked OK. I can't figure out how the path got changed as I never touch that part of the screen. Oh well, all's well that ends well.

    Thanks

    CD Ripper won't rip

I have happily ripped over 1,600 CDs with dBpoweramp. Yesterday I ripped ten of the CDs that I received for Christmas without any problem. This morning I can not rip a single CD using dBpoweramp. The computer is the same; e.g. no new software or Window Updates. I have tried using the computer's internal DVD/CD reader as well as three external DVD/CD readers from three different manufacturers. dBpoweramp recognizes the tracks and can download the meta data including the cover photo. However, when told to rip dBpoweramp spends a few seconds trying to read the first track, gives an error message, and skips to the next track, and then repeats the error message and skips for each of the remaining tracks. Rebooting the computer does not help. Changing from Secure mode to Burst mode does not help. What does work is exiting dBpoweramp and using Easy Audio Copy to rip the CDs. EAC has no problem ripping the CDs that dBpoweramp can not using the same hardware.

The CDs that dBpoweramp can not rip come from two different Sony box sets. The ten CDs that I ripped yesterday came from one of the two box sets.

Any suggestions as to how to get dBpoweramp ripping again would be appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.
