Major mistake. But many high end audio folks only know iTunes. Sad really but it is not at all uncommon. Folks serious about ripping have long used either dbpa or EAC. These same experts will swear that a bit perfect FLAC sounds different from a wav file. <sigh>

agree 100% (that is, we are trying for perfect with this software). My only point is that an insecure rip may not require replacing the disc. I have maybe 10,000 CDs. A few I was never able to get beyond insecure. In rare cases, I bought a new CD because the particular artist/Album was very important to me in my collection. But others were things I only rarely listened to and without an audible skip or other audible flaw, etc. I didn't feel the need to replace the CD. There are a lot of things I deal with in my daily life that are not perfect and in most cases, insecure rips are toward the bottom of my list. ;-)

But, is it worth that hassle -- assuming I don't have one easily at hand and don't want to buy one ? Or if it was good enough to be Secure with Warning does that mean the "flaw"is likely a second or two that I can't hear and not worth worrying about.

Or just listen to the track. You may not be able to hear any issue whatsoever.

    Just wondering.

Do I live with this (assuming no audible pops). ?

Does this likely manifest itself only in a couple seconds on the song I won't even notice or is it more serious than that?

This is happening on some CDs where all the other tracks are showing Accurate and Secure, even after I clean and use that Dr scratch remover thing. Does this make you think there was a manufactureing defect all along, that I just never knew about?
Working...
