I've noticed this on three scratched CDs so far. I live in the SF bay area and many of my CDs are in the basement at a current temperature of about 50 degrees F.
When I first try to rip these scratched CDs, I get errors or frame rips.
The drives and the office are already warmed-up.
After the CD has been in two drives the CD media is around 100 degrees F. Then the re-rip on the original drive is successful.
Anyone else ever notice this?
Phil
