Some new light on the old "album type" bug, described in this thread (now closed). The bug is still present in R2023-05-15, but a recent thread triggered me to further investigation.
To reproduce do the following:
Doing exactly this, I get an empty album listing.
There are two workarounds to this:
a) In MediaDatabaseFieldsv7a.txt, capitalizing a letter in the word album, e.g. "Album type" or "alBum type"
b) In MediaDatabaseFieldsv7a.txt, moving "album type" (still in lower case) upward, placing it above "album"
The first workaround is the one I've been using up till now, the second one I just tested today.
I hope you can reproduce this bug now, knowing the additional workaround.
I leave it up to you to fix it or not, since there are two workarounds now that does the trick - seemingly without affecting anything else.
To reproduce do the following:
Code:
1) Tag some albums with ALBUM TYPE=Studio ALBUM TYPE=Live 2) In MediaDatabaseFieldsv7a.txt add, as the last item, in lower case: album type 3) Make the following trees Album Album Type{_no_track_list_} Album Type\root 4) In e.g. Asset Control, browse Album Type > Studio > Album
