Re: AssetUPNP QNAP: Adding remote watched media folders
Okay thanks for your reply Spoon, I'll run a windows machine on site rather than a QNAP in that case!

Re: AssetUPNP QNAP: Adding remote watched media folders
I am sorry to say that the QNAP cannot browse that share, as a computer would on the network. The QNAP runs Linux, and you would have to mount the network share locally on the QNAP, it is quite an involved process (from the SSH command line). See:
http://forum.qnap.com/viewtopic.php?t=99386
To get the mount to be persistent (ie survives a reboot) is more difficult.Leave a comment:

AssetUPNP QNAP: Adding remote watched media folders
Hello,
I've got AssetUPNP running on my qnap and its scanning my local media folders fine but I also want it to scan a remote location.
I've entered the location as
\\ns01c8d8/Music/MQ/
under /share/Multimedia/ etc but it doesnt seem to be picking anything up. Do I need to use a different format? The folder is a public share and accessible through web browser etc.
Cheers,
