o Convert To or Edit Tag available on right click in TotalCommander under Vista64

    hi there

as i prefer working with the totalcommander, it's sad that under vista 64 no Convert To and Edit ID-Tags is shown in tc (contextmenu e.g. of flac-files).

as these commands are shown in the windows-explorer, maybe it's just a specific entry in the registry?

Your total commander must be a 32 bit application, in Win64 you need a 64 bit shell to read the dll which adds the commands.

      yes, it's a 32bit only application.
nevertheless, no way to get the context-commands show up in tc?
      no registry fix possible?

No, TC would have to load dBpoweramps Shell Dll which inserts the commands.

          ...sounds convincing.
so you say it's up to tc to fix this.
          hmmm...
under xp, that is under a 32 bit os, tc does load this shell dll cause these commands are properly shown, and as under vista64 the windows-explorer shows 'Convert To' and 'Edit ID-Tags', my guess is that dbpoweramp does have, let me put it this way, 32bit and 64bit modules?
(btw tc shows the contextmenus of several other programs under vista64, e.g. surprisingly hkSFV or 'Scan with AVG')

well, it's not my intention bothering you, i can work with dbpoweramp using the commands in the windows-explorer. just would be nice being able to use this outstanding filemanager that tc is under vista64 as well.

anyway, thanks for your extraordinary great job developping the swiss army knife of sound :-)

          take care

A 32 bit process cannot load a 64 bit dll.

I think the user is asking if there is a way to have TC load the 32-bit DLL while in 64-bit Windows.

I do not think the 32 bit one will install correctly.

                  hi spoon
did some new testing concerning my tc-dbpoweramp-vista64-problem....

installed dbpoweramp11.5 on a xp machine and copied the dbshell.dll
and dmcshell.dll on my vista64 machine. renamed them to *shell32.dll
and put them into the dbpoweramp folder.
afterwards regsvr32 dmcshell32.dll and shell32.dll provided both contextmenus in TotalCommander.

                  nevertheless it didn't function....
clicking on 'Convert To' provide the message 'Unknown Command Line: '< fileselectors >' and clicking on 'Edit Tag' 'Unknown Command Line '< Convert To > [Edit Tag].

well, guess it has to be that way, cause dmcshell32.dll is searching dbshell.dll and not dbshell32.dll?
and probably the found dbshell.dll could not be adressed cause it's an 64bit file?
hmm....maybe it's possible to provide a dmcshell32 with altered commands pointing to a dbshell32.dll and that would solve the trouble?

If you install R12 on a 32 bit system, then 64 bit on your final system and copy all files from \dbpoweramp from 32bit to 64bit it might work.

copying all files turned out not to be necessary. i did install dbpoweramp12.4trial on a xp computer, renamed the dmcshell.dll into dmcshell32.dll and copied the file in the installation folder on my vista64 machine.
executed the regsvr32 command and, ooops, totalcommander showing Convert To and Edtit ID-Tag.
                      and the best....converting works :-)))))

                      cheers
