    two CD players

    I have a CDR and a DVD-ROM drive in my machine. Sometimes I want to have two instances of dbPoweramp Audio CD input open, and rip with one while I enter in track info into the other (and even rip at once, since I have processor to spare). Problem is, when I change the drive of one, the second one will also change drives when it's done ripping, I have to keep going back to "options" to swap drives.

    Would be nice if each instance kept its options in-memory, and didn't re-read from the disk when it came back from ripping.

    ===
    a followup- trying to rip two different CDs at once is so "broken" that dbPowerAmp should probably refuse to start up more than a single instance...

    i haven't tried that before. but have you looked at my guide to rip into more than one type at the same time?

    start up dmc cd audio input. select all the tracks you want to rip. then select rip with options [right button click] now click "powerpack" put a tick in "skip finish". this is important so it will automatically go to the next conversion. the option to put a tick in "wait

    i'm sure more could be acheived with this method. not sure.

      That presumes that I have both CDs ready to start at the same time, which is almost never the case. And it's much kludgier than running one copy per drive... if I were to use that method, would probably just use CD Audio input for the main CD and MusicConverter for the secondary CD (but does MusicConverter do all the FreeDB lookups and tagging and naming that the CD Audio input does?) Might as well go back to CDEX.

        You are right, it is not currently compatible to rip from 2 drives at the same time through the Audio CD Input program, I know of it, just haven't had the chance to get around to it.
