Software Registration Not Recognized
I was running a trial version of dBpowerAMP and cautioned that I should register it to continue. I bought the download, got the confirming email and downloaded the software; the file name reads '...registered.exe.' But I can't install. I get a message saying there's another version (actually same version) in place that is preventing installation. I follow the remove and restart routine but it seems not to work. I am always returned to a list of software that includes '...registered.exe' and alongside it an option button that says 'Register.' despite the label 'registered.exe' the system doesn't seem to behave as if I am registered.
I seem to be running through the same routine at every attempt. I'm out of patience; I've tried both download sources that were sent to me by email. Same result with both. What's going on? |

Re: Software Registration Not Recognized
Save the install to your computers hard disk, then in control panel >> add / remove programs uninstall all dbpoweramp items you can see (you will need to be from an administrators account to do this, not a limited user), reboot the computer and install the registered version.

Re: Software Registration Not Recognized
You need to save the executable onto your hard drive and not run it from the link. Downloading the program to your hard drive means that you can back it up in the event that you have to install it again.
Once you have successfully downloaded the installation exe you can then run it by double clicking on it. As part of the installation it checks to see if you have any older versions of the software a;ready present and you have the option for it to uninstall the old version prior to continuing the installation of the new version. |
